A Sunday Kind of Love
I'm a designer, a creator, a student, and an explorer. I paint, I sew, I design, I photograph, and I play. This is my head one day at a time. Some of the work is mine and some of the work comes from others that inspire me. My name is Chelsey and this is my digital sketchbook.

You can see my work at chelseyculmann.com

Are we all just information addicts, churning out bad Xeroxes of something we once saw or heard? Or is the redoubled emptiness a more personal expression: the result of looking inside his/her own personal artistic soul and finding, well nothing?

— Adam Fisher questioning Michael Riedel about his work for the New York Times Style Magazine.

Sincerity is one of my favorite victories in this lifetime. I mean, how much rebellion did I have to experience? How much fighting did I do? How many times did I have to ignore my father’s inability to emote - how we all ignore our fathers’ inability to emote in our presence? How much air conditioning did I have to transcend and the comfort that goes along with it - the comfortable couches, the television, the.. uh, magnitude of static that surrounds us - I mean, how much daily fighting, infighting, strategizing, evading, running.. did I have to do for the ability to feel? For the ability to emote? For the simple moments when I feel actual passion?

It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?
